The AI chip builder SiMa.ai has netted a $145 billion valuation for “physical AI”. Physical AI is built to pilot devices that react with the physical environment. Such devices include industrial and medical robots, drones, security cameras, driverless cars, and security systems. SiMa.ai chips are more energy efficient, by eliminating the need to send data to the cloud.The startup hopes this will make their chips cheaper than NVIDIA’s. Will this be enough to compete with leading chip manufacturers?
