While Apple adopted RCS, a SMS style cross-platform communication standard with read receipts and file sharing, with iOS 18 last year, the E2EE encryption method has been missing on Android-iPhone default text chats. The E2EE encryption method ensures only the sender and recipient of text-message can read its content, and it will soon be available for iPhone-Android text messages.
