How Robotics is Treating Epilepsy

A new robotic system has been designed to help treat epilepsy less invasively and more accurately. Specifically, in Lo Wai-shing's case, he underwent the new procedure to treat his drug-resistant epilepsy and found that his condition had improved significantly, his seizures had lessened and he slept more peacefully. In the procedure, surgeons placed numerous electrodes on the patient's brain to locate the seizure-inducing areas and destroyed the brain tissue using heat-producing radio waves.
