Critical Telnetd Flaw Allows Root Access
A critical Telnetd flaw grants a remote attacker to bypass authentication and gain root access. An Israeli company, Dream, states that the vulnerability will be resolved by April 1st. The company also states that even a network connection to port 23 is simple enough to stimulate the flaw. It is recommended to run Telnet without root privileges when possible and potentially block port 23 until the vulnerability is patched.
