Humanoid Robot Climbs 6,000m Peak, Engineers Say That Everest is the Next Target

On June 5th, a humanoid robot named Pemba was able to climb to the top of Mount Chimborazo, the highest mountain in Ecuador. This robot was equipped with a jacket, gaiters, sneakers that had micro traction spikes, and a long lasting battery that enabled it to complete the 6,000m hike. When the engineers that trained this robot were asked what's next for this robot, they said that they would like to see Pemba be the first robot to climb Mount Everest.
