WhatsApp To Implement Username System For User Privacy

WhatsApp, a Meta-owned global communication platform with over three billion users, is officially implementing a username system to help keep phone numbers private. This new update is optional, but allows connections to be made by usernames rather than phone numbers. Users can now choose their own handle, or use the built-in tool to randomly generate one. The company states that this feature will be coming out within the next couple of months. Overall, this update promotes better security within the platform and other accounts can no longer access a user's phone number.
