Generative Bionics has officially introduced Gene.01, which is a functional humanoid robot designed to work alongside humans in many different industrial environments. The new robot features what's called a "tactile" skin capable of sensing touch, proximity, force, and temperature. Built on a physics-native AI, the robot optimizes hardware and intelligence as a system to ensure stability and human collaboration. The company is still modifying the robot for its first commercial deployment, collaborating with shipbuilder Fincantieri to create a welding humanoid for shipyards. Generative Bionics has open-sourced the robot's digital model directly through existing software distribution to allow for collaboration.
