The open source web visualization software maker, Grafana Labs, posted on social media saying their investigation found that the hackers used a stolen token to access the company's GitHub environment. However, the hackers weren't able to access customer records or financial data. Since Grafana's code is open to the public, it is unclear if they stole exclusive code or information. The company cited the FBI's advice of not paying hackers, since it doesn't guarantee that all the data will be returned and it also helps fund future cyberattacks.
