Hackers Based in China Broke Into 40+ Government Agencies and Global Organizations
Hackers affiliated with the Chinese government broke into several government agencies located in more than 40 countries and dozens of telecommunication companies. According to Google, the campaign appears to show over 10 years of effort. Hackers deployed a malware named "GRIDTIDE" and secretly controlled infected computers while using a Google Document. This resulted in traffic communication looking like normal Google communications. As a result, Google has disabled the attackers' cloud access.
