Januscape, a 16-year-old use-after-free vulernability, was found affecting both Intel and AMD x64 systems. It is located in the MMU code(Memory Management Unit, responsible for translating code memory addresses to physical memory), allows a guest virtual machine with root access to either crash the host computer or run whatever code they wish. It was officially fixed in June 2026, with patches released recently. To mitigate this, administrators should update to those patched kernels.
