Like Most of Us, The Pope Is No Fan of AI Art
Pope Leo XIV is not a fan of AI art it turns out. The pope is calling to preserve human art from the encroachment of AI. His letter pointed out the stark differences between the art humans produce and those generated by machines. This is not the first time Leo XIV has spoken up about AI, his encyclical in May spoke up on protecting human dignity in a world where automation is rapidly accelerating. This has not deterred AI firms from lobbying the head of the Catholic Church to reconsider his position on non-human intelligence, but he has not budged.
