Microsoft struck a deal to reopen the Three Mile Island energy plant, which in 1979 suffered the worst nuclear accident in U.S. history, in order to power its AI computing needs. AI requires tons of data centers which consume large amounts of power, and concerns over the energy needs of AI have been mounting as the technology evolves.
