Microsoft successfully disrupted the shared infrastructure of two malware strains, Amadey and StealC, which compromised over 140,000 computers. These patterns allowed investigators to link the distinct criminal operations together, providing definitive evidence allowing them to file a federal lawsuit and seize the hackers' entire malicious network at once.
