Mind Robotics, a startup founded by Rivian CEO, raised $400 million in a funding led by Kleiner Perkins. Salesforce Ventures and Volkswagen-affiliated Incharge Capital also participated, resulting in the deal valuing the company at $3.4 billion with total funds over $1 billion. Founded late last year, Mind Robotics develops industrial robots for vehicle production and other manufacturing, and is currently working with Rivian to deploy hundreds of smart robots at its Normal, Illinois facility. The company plans to expand its customer base beyond automotive manufacturing, as they previously raised $500 million in March.
