Ransomware Attack Disrupts Bajaj Auto's Systems and its Subsidiary

The ransomware attack that hit Bajaj Auto, India's most valuable two-wheeler and the world's largest three-wheeler manufacturer, affected its systems and its subsidiary, Bajaj Auto Technology Ltd. Though Bajaj Auto didn't disclose any information on whether data was compromised or if a ransom was demanded, the measures taken to mitigate the incident were successful. Technical teams, cybersecurity experts, and management have continued to monitor and implement protocols to contain the impact. After Tata Electronics confirmed a cybersecurity incident a couple days before that claimed to leak its data on the dark web, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team has called for stronger monitoring, threat detection, and quicker remediation of critical vulnerabilities.
