The Voiceless Will No Longer Stay Silent

Konrad Zielinski founded Uhura Bionics to develop a more natural sounding voice box. Zielinski lost his voice to cancer, but found that existing electronic devices sound too flat and robotic. Uhura Bionics has become successful from selling two devices that can help those who lost their voices. Now they’re developing a new device where the voice sounds more natural, and people are able to sing, shout, or laugh. Uhura is working toward getting their devices classified as Class I medical devices, which will allow for partial reimbursement through health insurance. Hopefully, these devices will give people their voices back for years to come.
