'Godfather of AI' shares Nobel Physics Prize

The Nobel Physics Prize winners for 2024 were surprisingly not physicists but two computer scientists, Geoffrey Hinton (known as the "Godfather of AI") and John Hopfield, for their work on machine learning. The nation's second-largest school district has voted to ban cellphones and social media for students. The policy change comes after concerns about the effect of technology on the mental health of K-12 students as well as the difficulty of teachers in managing their students' phone usage.
